Subcommittee
The Chreso University Research
Subcommittee is an entity that examines
all research ventures and recommend improvements that enhances institutional
growth. The committee seeks to develop a research culture that will build the
capacity of the Chreso University to provide a research environment for all
learners. This will serve the needs of communities and fulfil the University’s
mission by ensuring that only scientific, ethical, and relevant research is
carried out by the institution. Members are appointed to the subcommittee by
the Deputy Vice Chancellor-Research and innovations, who will select qualified
and competent personal using the criteria in described in the terms of
reference.
The purpose
of the subcommittee is to operate as a technical advisory committee to the
office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor-Research and innovations on all matters
pertaining to research. This will include grant application, administration of
research, publications, royalties and performance review of research activities
in the University.
The Core
functions of the committee include;
i.
Review the
operations, administrative organization, and budgets of the research cores
annually.
ii.
Make recommendations
on developing mechanisms to ensure more effective partnering and integration of
basic and clinical research programs that will improve institutional
capabilities.
iii.
Develop guidelines
and policies that will govern the conduct of research by students and members
of staff.
iv. Identify areas for strategic investment, in research programs that will address major institutional research initiatives.
